How to level up
Race-realm mayor: Find a realm’s mayor and ask mayor for status (also deeds / report). The mayor deducts coin on hand (not bank) and reputation from that mayor’s realm, then raises your level and applies stat points per level to every stat.
Five per realm: Each of the six race realms may fund five level increases in every 30-level band: levels 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, and so on. Level 0 is training and is outside the bands. After five increases in one realm, seek another realm’s mayor; every realm’s allowance resets at the next band. Profession masters continue to teach skills but do not raise levels.
Fees increase as you level under default settings (scaling reputation; coin tied to creature payout tables, see README Coin & Reputation → Leveling). Staff can switch to flat legacy modes in Admin → Game Settings.
Type help leveling in-game for a compact version of this.
Realm balances and level cost
Realm reputation can be banked without a next-level cap. The reputation price still increases with character level and is identical at every mayor for that level. Every realm has a consistent emblem, 🌑 Nharzul, 🛡️ Thornhaven, ⛰️ Stonewake, ⚙️ Brassburrow, 🍀 Greenmeadow, 🌿 Elarion Grove, and 🏰 Dreadspire, wherever its reputation or reward target appears. The Status realm chip opens the full ledger with the six race-realm balances, the active 30-level band, and each race realm’s used level increases. Dreadspire appears only as an all-realms reward source and has no balance of its own.
Gaining coin and reputation
- Kill creatures: Loot corpses; coin and reputation are proportional to damage you dealt (creatures far below your level may pay reduced or no rewards).
- Quest kill rep: While on a kill quest, each qualifying kill grants kill_reputation.
- Quest turn-in: Use
ask <npc> for complete quest; reward coin and reputation apply then (highlighted in the log). - Bank: Withdraw coin before visiting the Mayor if your fee must be on hand.
Training (skills)
Every profession's ability path spans levels 1-200. Profession Masters teach 50 spells for Empath, Cleric, and Wizard at even 4-5 level intervals, and focused 30-ability paths for Warrior and Ranger at even 6-7 level intervals.
Click a master and choose Study abilities, or use ask <master> for training. The draggable catalogue shows current lessons, greyed-out future levels, and an optional list of abilities already learned. Select a lesson to ask the trainer about its chained quests. Only after every linked quest is complete can the trainer charge its coin and general reputation cost and prepare the orb.
Most buffs affect only the caster; selected support buffs may target one ally. Higher levels add separate, more expensive group versions that affect living party members currently in the caster’s room. Buffs in the same family replace their earlier version, and aggregate bonuses remain capped.
